Westcott, Edward Noyes
Westcott, Edward Noyes (1846–98), after a successful career as a banker in Syracuse, N.Y., wrote the posthumously published David Harum, A Story of American Life (1898), a popular novel built around the character of a shrewd, humorous country banker in upstate New York. A short story was posthumously published with his letters in The Teller (1901).

Edward Noyes Westcott 1846–98, American novelist and banker, b. Syracuse, N.Y. He is known for his popular novel, David Harum (pub. posthumously, 1898), which concerns a shrewd, humorous country banker. |
