Dustin

Dustin

Dustin ♂ Transferred use of the surname, which is of uncertain origin, probably a Norman form of the Old Norse personal name Þórsteinn, composed of elements meaning ‘Thor's stone’. It is now used fairly regularly as a given name, largely as a result of the fame of the film actor Dustin Hoffman (b. 1937), who is said to have been named in honour of the less well-known silent film actor Dustin Farman (1870–1929).
