Diarmait
Diarmait
1. King of Tara, husband of Becfola, whose story is told in Tochmarc Becfhola [The Wooing of Becfola]. Becfola lusts after Crimthann (1), Diarmait's fosterling, who refuses to elope with her because he will not travel on a Sunday. She later departs for the Otherworld with Flann, but their affair is not consummated; she returns, unnoticed, in what seems an instant to ordinary mortals. Not to be confused with Diarmait mac Cerbaill. |
