Del Rio

Del Rio, Texas/USA Situated on the Rio Grande, the city developed from the Spanish mission of San Felipe del Rio ‘St Philip of the River’ established about 1675. It retained this name until 1833 when it was shortened to Del Rio to avoid confusion with San Felipe de Austin, also in Texas.
