Danvers

Danvers, USA Massachusetts: founded in 1630 as Salem Village and renamed in 1775 after Sir Danvers Osborne, governor of New York in 1753. In 1858 South Danvers became a separate town and in 1868 was renamed Peabody. The two other cities with this name in Illinois and Montana are named after the Danvers in Massachusetts.
