Cuti-citta
Cuti-citta (Skt., ‘death consciousness’). In the scholastic Buddhism of the Theravāda tradition, one of the fourteen functions of the life-continuum (bhavaṅga (see ĀLAYA-VIJÑĀNA)). According to the medieval commentators it is the final moment of consciousness in an individual's life and is followed immediately by the first moment of consciousness at conception (patisandhi-citta) in the new appearance.

cuti-citta (Pāli, death, consciousness) The final moment of consciousness (vijñāna) in this life, according to the Abhidharma classification of consciousness into fourteen functions. See also Bhavaṅga.
