Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi, Texas/USA Founded in 1838 as a trading post, it was named after Corpus Christi Bay in 1846. The bay was given this name because Alonso de Pineda, a Spaniard, sailed into it on the feast day of Corpus Christi, the ‘Body of Christ’, in 1519.
