Coelurosauria
Coelurosauria (order Saurischia, suborder Theropoda) An infra-order of carnivorous, bipedal dinosaurs that had small skulls, sharp, serrated teeth, long necks and tails, and hands with long, grasping fingers. They were the most persistent of the infra-ordinal dinosaur groups, extending from Triassic to Cretaceous times. The largest measured about 3 m long, although the great majority of these rather slender, agile dinosaurs were much smaller; Coelophysis, from the Late Jurassic of N. America, was less than 2 m long and weighed about 23 kg.
