Codex Iuris Canonici
Codex Iuris Canonici (CIC). The code of canon law in force in the (Latin) RC Church since 1918. In view of the unwieldy nature of the material of RC canon law, a code was compiled and promulgated in 1917, to come into force in 1918. A new code was promulgated in 1983, with a separate code for the Uniat Churches promulgated in 1990.
