Cavalla

Cavalla, West Africa A river which rises in Guinea and later forms part of the border between Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire. Portuguese navigators gave it the name Cavalla ‘Horse Mackerel’ in the 15th century, having found these fish at the mouth of the river. It is also known as the Cavally or Youbou.
