bitmap
bitmap An array of bits that map one to one to the monochrome image on a raster display. If a color or gray-level image is required, needing many bits to define each pixel in the display, a pixmap is required.

bitmap A graphic which is made up of a number of PIXELS. An example of a bitmap format is the GRAPHICS INTERCHANGE FORMAT. See BITMAPPED GRAPHIC.
