Bramham Moor, battle of

Bramham Moor, battle of, 1408. Henry Percy, earl of Northumberland, who had been lucky to escape disaster in 1403 when the revolt of his son Hotspur was crushed at Shrewsbury, raised rebellion against Henry IV again in 1408. He marched south to Thirsk but, in the middle of a bitter winter, found little support. He was defeated and killed at Bramham Moor, near Wetherby, on 20 February 1408 by Sir Thomas Rokeby, sheriff of Yorkshire.

Bramham Moor, battle of

Bramham Moor, battle of, 1408. Henry Percy, earl of Northumberland, who had escaped disaster in 1403 when his son Hotspur was killed at Shrewsbury, raised rebellion against Henry IV again in 1408.
