Baḥya ben Joseph ibn Paquda
Baḥya ben Joseph ibn Paquda ( Baḥya ben Joseph Pakuda) (late 11th cent. CE). Jewish philosopher, known only through his major work Kitab al-Hidaya ila Fara'd al-Qulub (tr. into Heb. as Ḥovot ha-Levavot, Duties of the Hearts). It discusses the ritual and ethical obligations of the Torah, and attempts to lead the reader through various mystical stages towards union with God.
