Amazonas, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela 1. Brazil: a state named after the River Amazon, in Portuguese ‘Rio Amazonas’.2. Colombia‐Peru: departments, both connected with the Amazon River basin.3. Venezuela: a state, although it is drained by the Orinoco River. The Negro River, which forms its western border, is a tributary of the Amazon.
