Hill, Aaron
Hill, Aaron (1685–1750), wrote the libretto for Handel's Rinaldo (1711). He was satirized by Pope in The Dunciad, and responded in The Progress of Wit (1730). He was responsible for launching The Plain Dealer (1724), a bi-weekly. His A Collection of Letters between Mr Aaron Hill, Pope and Others (1751) is an interesting record of the period. See theatre criticism.
