(William) Wilfred Campbell

The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition
(William) Wilfred Campbell 1861-1918, Canadian poet, b. Kitchener, Ont. Although ordained an Episcopal minister, he spent most of his life as a civil servant. His fame rests mainly on Lake Lyrics (1889), a volume of nature poetry. He also wrote historical novels and poetic dramas, and he edited the Oxford Book of Canadian Verse (1913).
