Escape to Margaritaville is a musical comedy that takes the audience on a perfect getaway, surrounded by the most beautiful melodies and original songs. The music of Escape to Margaritaville has been written and composed by none other than Jimmy Buffett and includes a variety of big hits. These hits include songs such as “Volcano”, “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, “Come Monday” and many more.

The storyline of the musical is set in a place that is, without doubt, a true representation of a heavenly beach. It is the Island paradise where folks from the city come to get away from the busy lifestyle. It is the ideal place to take a break from the hectic daily routines and troubles to make some new friends at the local bar or to lay back to the mesmerizing sound of a kettledrum. Following the story of the local Casanova at the bar, known as Tully, the story goes through some interesting twists and turns before finally concluding in a surprising manner!

The People Behind Escape To Margaritaville

The people behind this humorous storyline are what make it a worthy watch. Paul Alexander Nolan, who plays the lead role of Tully, has a lot of experience and many awards under his belt. He has won a Drama Desk Award nomination for his work in Bright Star on Broadway and has also been a part of My Fair Lady by Michael Arden. Nolan received an OCC nomination in 2015, for his work in Doctor Zhivago. Other notable roles for the theater actor include Once, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Chicago. Paul has also worked off-Broadway, debuting with Daddy Long Legs.

Lisa Howard, who plays the other lead role of Tammy was also recently nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her stellar performance in It Shoulda Been You, a musical comedy by David Hyde Pierce. Other Broadway credits for the accomplished actress include roles in Priscilla, 9 to 5, South Pacific, Queen of the Desert and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. For her role as Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, the actress won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance. She has also toured with the national company of Les Miserables.

Alison Luff, the actress who plays the part of Rachel has an equally illustrious success story. She was most recently seen as part of the Broadway revival of Les Miserables in the role of Fantine. She has also played the part of Miss Honey in the famous Matilda and has starred as Elphaba in Wicked.


The show has already been extended twice, a week before its opening date. The new dates will see the show run all the way till 16th February, 2018. Upcoming shows are going to take place at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans, The Hobby Center in Houston, Texas, Oriental Theater in Chicago, Illinois and Marquis Theater, for when the show opens on Broadway.
