Dallas Cowboys Tickets

The former five times Super Bowl champions, the Dallas Cowboys are hitting their stride once again after a few barren years. They are in very good form at the moment and fans are queuing up to grab Dallas Cowboys tickets to see one of the most formidable teams in the league play.

The formation

The Dallas Cowboys were formed in 1960 but the wheels were set in motion a few years earlier. Lamar Hunt wanted a football team to be based in Dallas but the NFL did not entertain the idea. Lamar went on to join a consortium that laid the foundations of the American Football League.

This was Lamar’s opportunity to give Dallas a football team. That franchise was named the Texans. NFL then made its move and awarded a team to Dallas in 1960 which did not sit well with George Preston Marshall, who owned the Washington Redskins. The team from the nation’s capital was the only side in the South of the US and because of that they enjoyed a lot of support.

“Hail to the Redskins” was the Redskins song but the owners of the new franchise bought the track’s right. Since the song was extremely important to the Redskins, Marshall backed down and on January 28, 1960, Dallas was given its own NFL team.

The Cowboys come to the party

NFL’s Dallas Cowboys began their journey slowly. They did not make it to the playoffs during their first six seasons. But then things changed in spectacular fashion.

The Cowboys won the conference title in 1966 and then followed that up doing the division and conference double in 1967. Two more division championships followed in 1968 and 1969 to cap off a successful decade.

The Dallas Cowboys had momentum and they made the most of it. They won a division title and a conference championship in 1970. 1971 was the year that really put them on the map. The Cowboys got their hands on the division title and the conference championship again. What made the year extra special was their first ever Super Bowl triumph. They beat the Dolphins to reach the top of the ladder for the very first time in their history.

The Cowboys roll of honor

The Dallas Cowboys have in total clinched five Super Bowl titles, ten conference championships and an impressive twenty two division crowns. They have also made it to the playoffs on thirty one occasions. They have made eight trips to the Super Bowl which puts them alongside teams such as the New England Patriots, the Denver Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Cowboys also hold the distinction of posting a whopping twenty winning seasons on the trot. They recorded that feat between 1966 and 1985. No team has come close to beating the record.

The team from Dallas is now looking to add to its title haul. They have their eyes set on their sixth Super Bowl win, which will put them next to the Steelers as the sides with most Super Bowl triumphs in history. NFL Cowboys game tickets for arguably the most well supported team in the NFL are in demand and you can book yours as well to be a part of a season that promises to be one for the history books.
