GISP
GISP (Greenland Ice Sheet Project) A US drilling project that extracts ice cores from the Greenland ice sheet and uses them to obtain atmospheric and palaeoclimatological information. In 1993 drilling reached bedrock at a depth of about 3000m and is now drilling its second hole (GISP2), about 30km from GRIP.
