Tiy (tē), fl. 1385 BC, queen of ancient Egypt, wife of Amenhotep III. Of humble origin, she was remarkable for her influence in state affairs in the reigns of her husband and of Ikhnaton, her son. The occurrence of her name with that of Amenhotep III shows an official recognition of the queen that was most unusual for Egypt.
