Thursday ★★½ 1998 (R)

Familiarity does breed something close to contempt in this comic crime thriller. Exdrug dealer Casey Wells (Jane) has left L.A. for the straight and narrow life of a married Houston architect. That is until his lowlife expartner Nick (Eckhart) turns up one Thursday with a briefcase full of dope and some gangster problems. A succession of other nasty characters then proceeds to darken Casey's doorway and his efforts to get his life back just cause things to spin further out of control. The leads do a good job but it's nothing you haven't seen before. Also available in an unrated version. 82m/C VHS . Thomas Jane, Aaron Eckhart, Paulina Porizkova, James LeGros, Paula Marshall, Michael Jeter, Glenn Plummer, Mickey Rourke; D: Skip Woods; W: Skip Woods; C: Denis Lenoir.
