aftercare

af·ter·care / ˈaftərˌke(ə)r/ • n. 1. subsequent care or maintenance, in particular: ∎  care of a patient after a stay in the hospital or of a person on release from prison. 2. childcare for the period between the end of the school day and the end of a parent's working day.

aftercare (ahf-ter-kair) n.
1. long-term surveillance or rehabilitation as an adjunct or supplement to formal medical treatment of those who are chronically sick or disabled. Aftercare includes the provision of special aids and the adaptation of homes to improve daily living.

2. surveillance of convalescents.
