Shutter ★½ 2008 (PG-13)

Another watereddown version of Asian horror, this time around the 2004 Thai chiller by the same name gets the Hollywood treatment. New bride Jane (Taylor) joins her photographer husband Benjamin (Jackson) on a business trip to Japan. One foggy night the couple accidentally hit a girl in the road. They assume she's okay and life goes on. However, her ghostly image begins appearing in Benjamin's photographs, tormenting the couple. Tame and tepid compared to the original, recycling the usual scare tactics now common in Jhorror remakes. 85m/C DVD . US Joshua Jackson, Rachael Taylor, Megumi Okina, David Denman, John Hensley, Maya Hazen, James Kyson Lee; D: Masayuki Ochiai; W: Luke Dawson; C: Katsumi Yanagijima; M: Nathan Barr.
