Belsen Village in Lower Saxony, Germany, site of a concentration camp established by the Nazis during World War II. Originally it housed Jews to be exchanged for German prisoners of war, but an estimated 30,000 people were murdered or died here of starvation and disease, before the camp was liberated in April 1945.

Belsen a Nazi concentration camp in the Second World War, near the village of Belsen in north western Germany, the liberation of which at the end of the Second World War provided the Allied countries with horrific and graphic pictures of what had been done to its inmates.
