Baugé, battle of, 1421. On 22 March 1421 Thomas, duke of Clarence, while campaigning in Anjou, was killed in a rash sortie. Lord Tankerville was also killed, and Somerset, Fitzwalter, and Huntingdon captured. No more than a nasty reverse, Baugé heralded the French recovery after Agincourt. Henry V left for France to restore the situation and died on the campaign in 1422.
