tenosynovitis Inflammation of a tendon sheath caused by strain, calcium deposits, hypercholesterolaemia, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. Claimed to be relieved by high intakes of vitamin B6, some 50 times the reference intake, but there is little evidence. See also carpal tunnel syndrome.
