BRISTOL, RHODE ISLAND - A report from the Herreshoff Marine Museum indicates a busy year with several accomplishments. A major step was taken to complete the Museum's waterfront by the purchase of the Beauregard property this past spring. The property, originally part of the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company, was known during the J-- Boat era of the 1930s and early 1940s as "Peacock Alley", named in tribute to the fabulous America's Cup Defenders stored there with their bowsprits extending over Hope Street.
