Chandigarh, Jan. 20 -- Chandigarh it seems will soon become a Tourists' Paradise if the Punjab government has its way.

Punjab government's new strategy underlining the importance of the city as a tourist destination and not just a transit spot has already begun in the right earnest and the first step in this regard, the establishment of the `Chandigarh Tourism Club' has already started.

Chandigarh has for many years been used as a transit location for foreign tourists visiting destinations in Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir. Now, it is planned to make Chandigarh offer a lot more to visitors.
