If it were not for one woman, the U.S. judiciary would have carte blanche to impose complete gender equality on America. -That equality would doubtless have included everything from women in all military combat positions to a more solid basis for abortion on demand (now based on constitutional smoke and mirrors) to homosexual marriage to who knows what. But thanks to Phyllis Schlafly, the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) never made it into the Constitution.
