To the Editor. Although chloramphenicol is well known to be associated with bone marrow aplasia, I describe the first case, to my knowledge, of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) in a patient after treatment with chloramphenicol. This case may provide insight into the mechanism of chloramphenicol toxicity.
