This article describes the origin of phen/fen combination use and its subsequent involvement in claims of primary pulmonary hypertension from a defense perspective. The national settlement criteria for inclusion in the subsequent class action suit is detailed, with descriptions of manipulative plaintiff attorney and physician methodology for inclusion of unqualified people in the suit and the expensive screening methods used for detecting them.
