As a neuro nurse, I'd cared for my share of patients with a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Little did I know that one day, my colleagues on the unit would be caring for me.
Seven years of working as a neuroscience nurse didn't prepare me for what happened on July 25, 2001. I woke up with a terrible headache, not an uncommon occurrence in those days. Ignoring it, I left for the gym, hoping a workout would help me feel better.
