NEW LINK FOUND IN OCEAN NITROGEN CYCLE

Scientists have identified an ocean organism that may help to explain the ocean nitrogen cycle. The unicellular "nitrogen fixers" appear to be chemically altering nitrogen into a form usable for biological productivity. According to research, they are fixing nitrogen at rates up to three times higher than previously reported. The results of the study appear in the 26 August issue of Nature.
