This work represents a significant contribution to the enterprise of Christian biblical theology. Gerstenberger addresses the religion, faith, and theologies of ancient Israel from the earliest times through the Persian period. The author's task is to elucidate the many theologies found in the Old Testament/Hebrew Scriptures.
