TORONTO-All of the most common treatment methods for amblyopia appear to be effective, although patching seems to work best, according to Malcolm L. Mazow, MD.

His conclusion, presented in the Costenbader Lecture at the annual meeting of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, was based on the results of a retrospective study that evaluated 279 patients who had completed treatment for amblyopia.
