Reoperative surgery for hyperparathyroidism (HPT) is fraught with hazard. When preoperative imaging studies are inconclusive or patient comorbidities are extensive fine needle-aspiration (FNA) is helpful to confirm the presence of suspected parathyroid tissue in the neck.
