For Andy Auch, a career in advertising started with promotion gigs for fraternities at Purdue University while he was still a student.

He also pounded the pavement selling Yellow Page advertising door-to-door.

"It went so well," Auch recalled. "I thought to myself that I could always get a real job, but I wanted to give advertising a try."
