We have recently generated a transgenic reporter mouse, named ERE-LUC- to study the state oftranscnptional activity of estrogen receptors (ER) in pathophysiological states. The mouse was generated using as a transgene a luciferasc reporter driven by a TK minimal promoter and a multimerized estrogen responsive element (ERE). Previous studies have demonstrated that the accumulation of luciferase is strictly associated with an augmented transcnptional activity of the receptors and that the reporter is not sensitive to the activity of ERRs.
