FT Jet Fuel Study May Aid Lower Emissions, Avoid Performance Problems

Some refiners may discover that it's impractical to avoid desulfurization of jet fuel when desulfurizing other middle distillates to meet future environmental regulations.
So, a new research project on ultra-low-sulfur jet fuels (including Fischer Tropsch blends) at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory could spark fuel suppliers, jet engine makers, airlines and the military to find new ways to avoid potential problems -- as well as achieve environmental and performance gains -- with jet fuel desulfurization.
