CALCIUM CARBONATES

Ground calcium carbonate (GCC) is a versatile mineral commodity that finds application in many different industries. There are two important sources of GCC in the United States. The first is the marbles from the Appalachians. These intermittently occur from northern Newfound down through Vermont to Georgia and Alabama. The second is the more dolomitic marbles from the Grenville province of the Canadian Shield.
