Conference addresses health issues affecting African Americans

According to leading healthcare experts African Americans, when it comes to health disorders such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and heart disease African Americans represent disproportionately high numbers in these categories and due to economic, social, and cultural factors are more likely not to seek nor receive proper healthcare treatment for these serious diseases. This healthcare phenomenon needs immediate action if progress is to be made to stem alarming mortality rates among African Americans, in what often are preventable and treatable health related problems.
