ABA 2000 teams up with rival

A pending merger will allow Indianapolis-based ABA 2000 to nearly double its size before its first basketball is bounced or its first ticket torn.

A tentative agreement has been reached between officials for the eight-team ABA 2000 and sixteam International Basketball League to combine forces starting this season, set to tip off Dec. 8.

But developing plans might move the headquarters of ABA 2000, the nation's newest professional basketball league, to another city.
