Blacks still face job bias: UL study shows

Two studies being released by the Chicago Urban League clearly show racism is alive and well in the Chicagoland job market. The research results demonstrate that when two equally qualified applicants apply for a position, whites will get hired hands down, officials said Monday.

That is the crux of the two studies being unveiled during a forum set for Wednesday at the Chicago Urban League 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 4510 S. Michigan Ave., according to Dr. Paul Street, vice president for Research and Planning for the Chicago Urban League, and Diana White from the Legal Assistance Foundation.
