Tunisian Government Releases Political Prisoners

The Tunisian government recently released two political prisoners in a move that some human rights organizations see as a sign of an improving human rights climate in the country. Khemais Chammari and Nejib Hosni, both Tunisian human rights lawyers, were released in December after each had served more than a year in prison. Both lawyers had defended detainees accused of political offenses in Tunisia.
