Francois Misser recently spent some days with Jean-Pierre Bemba's rebel MLC faction in the Congo. He tells here how Kabila's airforce has been bombarding civilian targets in the Equator Region.

Congo's Lusaka Peace Agreement was never really implemented in the Equator Region. Since early May, Kabila's bets have been bombarding the region, mainly hitting civilian targets. On 12 June, Kabila's government gave the rebels a 72-hour ultimatum to evacuate the areas they have conquered since the signing of the Lusaka Agreement on IO July 1999.
