Abstract-
Preliminary findings in subjects with spinal cord injury (SCI) suggest that neostigmine administered intravenously increases colonic tone, increases colonie contractions, and facilitates bowel evacuation. Of concern are potential pulmonary side effects, including an increase in airway secretions and bronchospasm.
