Miller Brewing Co. is dropping three of its four flavored malt beverages, the Milwaukeebased brewer said.

The announcement wasnt a surprise, said Randy Smith, president of City Brewing Co. in La Crosse. But sales of flavored malt beverages remain "fairly strong," Smith said Wednesday. The LaCrosse brewery makes its own brands of beer as well as beverages for about two dozen companies under contracts.

Some of the products made under contract in La Crosse include Smirnoff Ice and Mike's Hard Lemonade, two of the biggest-selling flavored malt beverages.
