THIS VOLUME IS AN EXCELLENT ADDITION TO an already strong list of commentaries on the Book of Amos. It is a fine supplement to, but not a replacement for, the commentary by James L. Mays in the same series. The commentary, which builds on the author's impressive publications on the eighth-century prophets, is eminently readable.
