American study support ultrasound breast screening

An ongoing study in America is adding to the statistical weight behind utilising ultrasound as a routine means of cancer screening women with dense breasts. A New York radiologist, Dr Thomas Kolb, has indicated that ultrasound finds many nonpalpable occult lesions missed by mammography in women with dense tissue - though he adds that it does not replace a mammogram, it's applicable only for women with dense breasts."
