JUSTICES WILL REVIEW SEARCHES AND IMMUNITY

The Supreme Court heard arguments on cases that would reduce police powers to conduct searches and remove an officer's qualified immunity for serving an inaccurate warrant.
In one 4th Amendment case, a Montana commune resident contended a warrant that did not identify specific targets for a search created personal liability for the officer.
But the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms pleaded that a search warrant can be legal even with omissions.
